Absolutely - this county needs ONE school district. The three schools already share upper level high school classes and several sports. The Districts seem to be quietly laying the ground work. It really would be the best thing for all the students.
The combined populations of the incorporated towns in the East Greene school district would appear to be about 1,500. It would seem that they could be easily absorbed into JSPC, resulting in better opportunities for those students.
Jefferson's biggest problem is not who can they incorporate, but who is near enough to incorporate them?
They are completely out in the middle of nowhere. Take a close look at the demographics of Audubon over the past couple of generations. This will be Jefferson.
I would pass along Audubon's statistics, but believe me, it's way too depressing.
Just for some perspective - Paton-Churdan is the 4th smallest district in the state. Last year they graduate NINE seniors. East Greene's classes are running about 20 per year. I think it's a no-brainer.

Does anybody know what the hold-up is on this?
Just to clear this up, exactly which communities are included in the East Greene school district?
Junction, Rippey and Dana ... possibly Angus and Berkley. Angus and Berkley are probably In Perry's district.
Rich is correct. Population of Grand Junction is about 950. Rippey is just over 300, and Dana is home to 84 people.
