Recently, there have been several articles of importance to Jefferson residents that were reported in the Carroll daily paper, but not in the Jefferson Herald. Why do you think that is?
Rick- I think the lack of response indicates the answer is obvious. By the way, when do I get my travel reimbursement? You told me not to bring it up here, but it's been awhile.
Marty, you are correct again. The Jefferson Herald does not actively pursue news, but appears to simply publish whatever the Chamber or whoever leaves at their desk.
The complete lack of interest shown here is reflected in that, and I'm not really sure that the locals want to read news anyway.
By the way, in regard to your travel reimbursement, our accounting department would like some clarification on a few trips that you have claimed. 43 trips to your local TGIF's seems a bit excessive, and the trip you and Bubba took to Macon is completely out of the question.
I have not seen the Jefferson papers since I moved from there years ago. Does the Bee&Herald actually have a reporter on staff or just clerical drones?
I have to confess that I really don't know the answer to that, Sarge, but by the looks of things it would appear that several groups from around the area simply drop off their info to be published weekly.
The chamber, the high school, the city council, police dept., and various other communities allm appear to hand in their weekly reports, and they are published.
If there is some one on their staff calling themselves a reporter, they obviously never even leave their office.
There may not be enough going on in downtown Jefferson to warrant a full time reporter, but I'd guarantee that the inbred, government subsidized, Greene and Carroll county "elite" farming families could support a "National Enquirer" and "Daily News" staff on their own. Someone should take a good, hard look at these parasites.
