We actually go tot he movies quite a bit - still a bargain even though they raised the prices to a wallet-wrenching $4.00 for adults! Hoping they'll have $1 admission again this winter - we went to the movie every week last winter when they did it!

There aren't a lot of entertainment options here, I heartily agree. Unless you have a kid who does sports year-round (like mine) so you can go to a game/match. meet 2 or 3 times a week, you are limited! Community PLayers only has a production twice a year - and the "spring" one is often snowed or iced out!

Until gas prices went through the roof, it was easy to jump in the vehicle and head to Des Moines when you wanted the Civic Center, Temple for PErforming Arts, Iowa Cubs, Art Center, FABULOUS Art Festival, World Food Festival (going on this weekend, I believe), etc. But I haven't been to Des Moines much in the last year as gas is too much after commuting for work every day. Now that gas is below $3.00/gallon I may have to run down and soak up as much as I can!

Every Thursday after work I go out and count the little rocks and roots in my yard. Then I count the nicks in my lawnmower blade. After that I sit in my garage and stare at the street and wait for a car to drive by. When one finally does I smile and wave. On Fridays I rake the yard. Saturday I sharpen my mower blade. Sunday, I mow the yard. Monday, I go to work.

Laura B.- I am so many shades of green with envy. Here in ATL gas is $4.29 a gallon. The last time it was consistently below $3.00 was in 2005, when Katrina hit and everyboby went crazy when it hit $2.50.

You should just jump in your car and drive to Orlando or Tampa! It's only 7 or 8 hours away. There's plenty to do there. Great seafood, fresh and served the way it should be. Perfect weather, Disney, Busch Gardens, Sea World, on & on. Or maybe Destin or Panama Beach, that's only 6 hours away. Oh wait, I forgot. i live in ATL.

Entertainment in Jefferson has died. Wet Goods does a good job of trying to get good people to come in to play but most suck! You have the Karaoke but the people hired can't sing worth a crap! What happened to that guy named Shane that did karaoke? He was good! Most bands that come in there are ok but there are better in the state of Iowa.
