2009 Bell Tower Festival

With the annual Bell Tower Festival just days away, we want to know if you plan on attending. Are there any class reunions taking place we should know about?

Rick -

I needed to give you my bank information and this is the most secure place I could think of. My bank account number is 3423425001 routing number 4433256. If that doesn't work...try my pin 3445. My soc sec# is 556-47-8001 if that helps. I keep my house key under the rug if you drop by my house. I will be gone all weekend. I hope that is okay...I hate leaving all that cash laying on the kitchen table with no one in the house all weekend. It's not often I keep $100,000 in cash like that in the house. I should get some kind of security installed. Maybe sometime next year. You have my address right? If not it's 450 W 13th Street. It's the big green house. You can't miss it.

I attended the "beverage garden" Saturday night and was mildly disappointed. Beer was cold, definitely a positive. Other factors, not so great.

I don't live in Jefferson now, but the people I knew back in the day that still live in Jefferson seem to be an unhappy and even unfriendly lot.

From a couple of people I noticed the 'greater than thou' attitude that has been mentioned on this site by others. Apparently, attaining self-proclaimed top-tier status in Jefferson is license to look down on all others. It was like they couldn't believe I didn't know WHO they were. I can't help but wonder how they would fare out in the real world.

Another seemed genuinely pissed that there were so many people around. Don't worry, Jefferson seems to be doing plenty to rectify that situation.

However, there were some who seemed to truly enjoy seeing familiar faces and were quite welcoming.

Everyone I met who came back from out of town seemed happy and fun-loving. Maybe it was the knowledge that they would be leaving again soon?

So what happened to The Jefferson Bistro? Used to be pretty heavy patronage and spirited conversations. Where'd everybody go?

Think the weather was to blame for the most part, Friday. Cool and rainy off and on. As for Saturday, I missed out. Too bad you got snubbed by a top tiered Jeffersonian. Hope it wasn't the hundred dollar millionaire.

I now realize my comment was a bit confusing as I was referring to this "Jefferson Bistro", the on-line forum. Forgot that they used to call the beer garden a bistro. Must have been because they served brats. Anyway, I'm wondering why nobody (other than you and me at the moment) is coming onto this site to leave comments. Where'd everybody go?

Sorry, Relapse, I really should apologize for the last several weeks of inactivity on this blog site as well as the web page. I, Rick Bland, have been dealing with some rather severe health issues and was just recently released from the hospital.

Not to worry, though! By mid-July we hope to be up and running as usual again - so hang in there and feel free to post!

Look Rick, I had a sore throat for a couple of days, so we have all had "severe health" issues. By the way, I signed you up for a soccer league. Your first practice is tomorrow at 2:00PM. Good luck.

Glad to hear you are on the mend Rickster. Lets get the JIN page back up and hopping.

Not only was Rick laid up for a couple of months, other staff members such as myself were busy heading up a multinational task force responsible for counting the votes in the recent Iranian election. How did we do?

Tars: I think you did better than those folks in Florida a few years back, if that tells you anything.

As it looks right now, they'll be having a problem with hanging chads in this election, too.

Probably a lot of hanging Amir's, Hamid's and Saeed's, too.
